London work we have done

In east London we fitted the windows for two new floors with 10 apartments at 1-5 Western Road in Romford, and a brick residential building with balconies at 2 Greenleaf Road in Walthamstow. In the south-east, Roxby House in Sidcup was a five-storey office block converted into 34 flats, with the original ribbon windows replaced floor by floor.

A lot of London residential space comes from making better use of existing buildings: converting offices to flats, or adding storeys on top. Those jobs are about access, sequencing and getting the windows to suit the old building and the new one, and that is where we spend most of our time.

Things London jobs usually need

Sites on main roads and near railways often carry a planning noise condition, so the glazing has to meet a figure in the acoustic report. Conservation areas can fix the colour, glazing bars or frame profile. And on tight sites, deliveries and lifting are planned around the street, the neighbours and your logistics plan. We read the planning documents before we price, so these are in the quote from day one.
